I'm not sure if this is a topic that's been touched on already and I couldn't find it, or if it something that isn't allowed to be discussed on MAL but is there a site where you can stream raw anime?
IIRC, crunchyroll allows you to disable subtitles but unfortunately, it is blocked in the country I'm visiting.

Legal streaming sites have no reason to stream raws specifically, and streaming raws is too niche to serve the profit motive of bootleg streaming sites -- they get a fair amount of traffic from Japan already with English subbed or dubbed streams. Just download the fan-subbed/ripped/edited .mkv releases from the torrent site of your choice, and switch the subtitles off. It is also possible to download raws.

or use the Crunchyrull Unblock addon for chrome
you can also try to do it the japanese way and watch it on nicovideo; i haevnt done and im not even sure what it does, but i saw this page once

I didn't know anime was on niconico, I'll give it a look.
The main reason I want to stay away from torrenting is because I'm currently using a university connection and I know laws regarding torrenting are a bit different (I'm not too read up on it)

as long as they don't explicitely block torrent connections (like mine does =/) i dont think there can be a problem

Oh please, they're not that hard on it. I mean if you can damn xerox a whole textbook, downloading anime isn't that different (of course if the vpn is allowed, that is).
O.T. most horriblesubs files have softcoded subs.
