Hornacek pursued her education at Xavier College Preparatory in Arizona, where she was actively involved in the school’s volleyball team. Later, she continued her academic journey at the University of Southern California, where she pursued a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She commenced her career at Trojan Vision Television which is a student-operated TV station. Here, she served as an anchor while pursuing her studies in Broadcast Journalism.
