Why is Escape from Tarkov so hard? ›

As Escape From Tarkov is so mechanically complex, there's a need to almost use the entire keyboard to simply play the game at the most fundamental level. From checking your weapon to leaning and from healing hotkeys to stance adjustments, Escape From Tarkov is a game that'll push your keyboard skills to their limit.

For the last 250 hours, I've had two main goals: learn maps and not die. And you'd be surprised how hard it is to do either of those things in the absence of the other. Then if you ask a veteran of Escape from Tarkov what it takes to get better, the answer is liable to be “die a lot,” with several qualifications.
